Jared Stonesifer joined the University of Pittsburgh in August 2022, first as University Spokesperson and now as Head of External Communications and Media Relations.
Prior to joining Pitt, Jared worked for more than a dozen years as a newspaper reporter for various publications around the Pittsburgh region, as well as being a content creator for TV news stations in the city. Originally from eastern Pennsylvania, Jared fell in love with Pittsburgh when he attended Pitt as an undergraduate, though he won’t tell you how long ago that was. He has two degrees from Pitt – one in journalism, another in political science.
Jared’s most important role is being a dad to two young boys. He lives with his wife, children and rambunctious cat in the suburbs.
