Biography
As Vice Chancellor for Communications and Donor Relations, Jonathan Goldstein leads a team in planning and executing strategies to cultivate engagement and philanthropy among alumni, donors, and other friends of the University of Pittsburgh. His work focuses on storytelling, reporting, and developing events to build support for Pitt’s mission and goals, especially those articulated in the Plan for Pitt.
Jon has worked in higher education communications for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Pitt’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement in 2019, he served in similar roles at Dartmouth College and Duke University, supporting comprehensive fundraising campaigns at each of those institutions. He was a newspaper reporter for more than a decade before moving into university communications.
Jon earned a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in journalism and political science from Syracuse University. He is the proud father of two University of Pittsburgh students.
