Lila Rose

In her role as chief of staff to the senior vice chancellor for external relations at the University of Pittsburgh, Lila Rose drives the strategic development and execution of initiatives aimed at strengthening the University’s internal and external relationships. By providing leadership and strategic direction, she ensures a cohesive and impactful approach to advancing Pitt’s standing as a leading academic, research and economic powerhouse. Rose’s focus is on cultivating key partnerships, enhancing communication strategies, and aligning external engagement efforts with the University’s overarching goals.

Her previous experience includes impactful roles in political, government and civic sectors. Rose is actively involved in the Pittsburgh community through the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Women United and as a member of the board of directors of the Junior League of Pittsburgh. She earned master’s degrees in management and international business at the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in international affairs with a business emphasis at Florida State University.

Rose is a proud resident of Pittsburgh, where she lives in the South Side with her husband and son, both named Chet.
